In a few words, what is your role at Hatched?
People and Culture Director. Head of High Kicks and Jazz hands didn’t fly.
What’s the most interesting or exciting thing you’ve done recently?
I walked the coastal trail from Anglesea to Torquay with a close group of friends. So often life gets in the way, but it was a reminder that its the simplest things that fill our cups up.
Give us the goods on some pop-culture (movie, tv series, doco, podcast). What’s the one thing you think everyone should check out and why?
Ready to enter a cultural conversation? I’ve been listening to Brene Browns Braving the wilderness, which is weirdly significant to the recent experience I had on the coastal trail.
Brown suggests that in our culture that is rife with perfectionism & lacking in connection we need to have the courage to brave the wilderness & show our true selves. It revisits Brene’s views on the importance of authenticity & integrity. There’s so much value in checking on this when we are young, and I find it comes up a lot in conversations with some of our Hatchlings.
Brown writes, “The wilderness is an untamed, unpredictable place of solitude and searching. It is a place as dangerous as it is breathtaking, a place as sought after as it is feared. But it turns out to be the place of true belonging, and it’s the bravest and most sacred place you will ever stand.”
